Grace at Habi­tat Insur­ance Agen­cies helped me when I was look­ing for tenant’s insur­ance pol­icy that could do mul­ti­ple things for me — In addi­tion to con­tents and lia­bil­ity insur­ance, I wanted to insure both my vio­lin and my leased busi­ness com­puter. I also had never had prop­erty insur­ance before so didn’t know what was impor­tant and what wasn’t. I would like the world to know about a great insur­ance bro­ker who offers great ser­vice, good prices and a keen eye to avoid­ing prob­lems. As the owner of a home, a car and a busi­ness it is my plea­sure to tell every­one how effec­tive Grace Catao is as well as her com­pany Habi­tat Insur­ance. I first met Grace 4 years ago and asked her to help me with ICBC car insur­ance. To my delight, Grace got my info quickly and was able to deliver a license plate, stick­ers and she was kind enough to do it within a few hours. A short time later I bought a home and again, Grace was able to guide me and to explain what was insured and in what cir­cum­stances. This was very use­ful as I live in a strata unit which has dif­fer­ent insur­ance rules then apart­ment insur­ance. Two years ago I did not receive the renewal notice from the insurer and Grace con­tacted me by phone to let me know my insur­ance was going to expire…thankfully we were able to cor­rect the sit­u­a­tion that day thanks to her phone call. I own an IT com­pany (that is respon­si­ble for the mar­ket­ing of this web­site). Three years ago I asked Grace to help me get busi­ness insur­ance because the two peo­ple I had pre­vi­ously asked came back with quotes over $10,000 which was too much for my small com­pany. Grace was able to get me com­pre­hen­sive busi­ness insur­ance for less then half what I was pre­vi­ously quoted despite that 50% of my clients are US based and Amer­i­cans tend to be very liti­gious. I run a 20-per­son IT con­sult­ing com­pany, and one of the things we spend a lot of time doing is reach­ing out to our clients to insist they have the right sys­tems and backup in place to pro­tect their busi­ness, even if they may not feel that is nec­es­sary. It can be a tough gig some­times, con­vinc­ing peo­ple to pro­tect their infor­ma­tion when they may not know why. Sort of like your den­tist call­ing to make sure you’re floss­ing daily. One of the things I love the most about work­ing with Grace at Habi­tat Insur­ance is it seems she cares more about pro­tect­ing my busi­ness than I do. Her rec­om­men­da­tions are always exactly what we need with­out fluff, and she is always stay­ing on top of mak­ing sure we are pro­tected accu­rately as we grow the busi­ness. And she and her team respond to our requests FAST. I tend to avoid finance/admin type tasks, so it’s great to have some­one else call me to check where we’re at and patiently remind me to “send that form I sent you two weeks ago.” Most impor­tantly, she is atten­tive and help­ful in every sin­gle inter­ac­tion, demon­strat­ing a level of car­ing for our well-being that I think rivals my mother’s. I would not hes­i­tate to rec­om­mend her enthu­si­as­ti­cally to any­one who needs insur­ance. We wouldn’t work with any­one else!

My house insur­ance pre­mi­ums were being increased by pre­vi­ous insur­ers, and yet I did not have any claims against my insur­ance, nor are we a high risk fac­tor.
